Pr. Vlasie are dreptate: „ei” (the differently able ones) sunt mult mai d
eparte de rispire, de starea de păcat. „Ei”, cu sufletele lor nesluţite, pline de candoare, ţin lumea. Există, desigur, şi excepţii, iar ochiul sardonic al lui Bunuel din Viridiana (şi nu numai) a surprins pe peliculă un astfel de portret de „înger căzut”: un orb depravat pe care blasfematorul (după unii) regizor l-a situat în centrul unei mese ce se vrea o Last Supper pe dos. Dar pr. Vlasie se
referea la personaje precum băieţelul nevăzător (cu „ochiul din afară”) din The Color of Paradise şi la copiii din filmele lui Tarkovski. În ultimă instanţă, istoria noastră – a mea şi a Ralucăi - se scrie şi se rescrie cu şi alături de Theodor.
Today Theodor was snowed under with gifts (well, partial gifts, as we are going to gradually pay back our friends Pili & Benja from the US for having bought and sent us this substantial parcel): a Jot a Dot machine (a portable brailling device), a Cubarythm and a Course in Braille Music Reading. We’ll have to learn how to read them and use them along with Theodor. In a way, he’s the opportunity life is giving us to redeem the time and to stay young. And yes, I will mention now the special relationship between father and son (which constantly comes to my mind) from the Sweedish movie Offret, even if some might be put off by my obsessive references to that particular director/poet/prophet.
